How was your body before Trevor Kashey Nutrition?
Chronically stressed, inflammed, undernourished, and constantly changing
How did that (state of being) make you feel?
I felt discouraged and insecure about my body. One day, I’d feel strong and confident, the next I’d be bloated and uncomfortable. It felt like my brain was always fighting my body.
Was there anything you were unable to do that you wish you could have done?
Nothing really physically because, if anything, I was over training. I was consistently going to the gym, lifting heavy weight, and going on runs, and felt very strong and capable. What I needed help with from TKN was my nutrition plan and helping address/fix my mentality and interactions with food. I was chronically under fueling, not getting enough protein, and then eating a ton of food off plan.
During that time, how did your current state of being affect those around you?
I would experience really low lows and fall into a really bad mental state when I went off my (unsustainable) meal plan. Because it was unsustainable, I ALWAYS would inevitably fall off plan. I was diagnosed with orthorexia and when I would eat foods I mentally deemed “bad” or “unhealthy,” I would also spiral. So pretty much, I just was often in a bad mental place with myself so I would retreat away from people and interactions.

The Comfort Crisis
What were your doubts and fears before starting the program?
I was worried that, despite everything in the book and all that Dr. Kashey preaches, this would end up just being another diet fad program and not actually help address the root of the issues.
What made you say YES anyway?
I believed in and understood what Dr. Kashey said in the book. Plus I recognized that what I was doing wasn’t working or sustainable; that I needed some guidance and support to make real change.
Life After KickStart
Where is your body/mind now?
I feel a lot more consistent with my body and my mind is more peaceful! I can more easily observe and recognise my thought patterns and self-sabotaging ways, then take steps to intervene instead of falling down the same holes I did before
How does that make you feel?
It makes me feel like I finally have some control over my mind and body. I feel more confident and happier in general by knowing I’m choosing myself and my goals everyday.
What are you able to do now that you were not able to do before (mentally, emotionally, or physically)?
I can now step back and observe my self-sabotaging thoughts and mentality. I feel like I can prevent big spirals and manage the few lows when they come now.
The Ripple Effect
What positive impact did that have on others around you that you might not have expected?
Feeling generally happier and more confident has allowed me to socialize and connect with people like I did before! I feel like I’m not as engrossed in my own mental landscape all the time and can be present for myself and others in my life.

What would you tell someone who is reading this right now and is unsure about taking the next step?
You’re looking into TKN because you recognize that you want to make a change and may need some guidance to do so. Now take the next step and invest in yourself! You only have one body, one mind, one YOU. It’s worth it to rewire your thought patterns, develop awareness and a good knowledge base, and join a community of people all working through the same things.
