Life Before KickStart
How was your body before Trevor Kashey Nutrition?
Soft, not very strong, volatile, inflamed, and fatigued.
How did that (state of being) make you feel?
Frustrated. And kind of like a dead end. It created a circular loop that led to the activities that reinforced that body type.
Was there anything you were unable to do that you wish you could have done?
Work out hard. I was too concerned about injury and didn’t have the energy to go really hard. I was also too inflamed to go for long runs.
During that time, how did your current state of being affect those around you?
People just felt they didn’t get the ‘real me’. Like I was a bit empty.
The Moment Everything Changed
How did you hear about Trevor Kashey Nutrition?
I heard about TKN from Michael Easter’s book, The Comfort Crisis.
What were your doubts and fears before starting the program?
I don’t think I had many doubts or fears. I was fairly confident it would be a quality program for me.
What made you say YES anyway?
I knew I had the time and space to put in the work and make the adjustment.
Life After KickStart
Where is your body/mind now?
My body is stronger and more energetic. My mind is clearer and has more direction on how to move towards my goals, whatever they may be.
How does that make you feel?
Great. I’ve enjoyed it! And I don’t have to give up the things I love. I just need to be an adult about them and have some self respect.
What are you able to do now that you were not able to do before (mentally, emotionally, or physically)?
Plan ahead of going out to eat so that I don’t totally bomb my day with insane calorie loads.
The Ripple Effect
What positive impact did that have on others around you that you might not have expected?
I think just having more energy to play with my kids and be with my family – but I’m not sure how much of that came from my job change versus the program itself.
Josh’s Words to You
What would you tell someone who is reading this right now and is unsure about taking the next step?
I would tell them it’s certainly worth it. The program has a wide breadth of topics. Some of them will resonate, some of them probably won’t as much. But it’s a great way to build awareness and skills to keep yourself moving forward.
