Life Before KickStart
How was your body before Trevor Kashey Nutrition?
I would describe my body before TKN Kickstarter as strong but agedly soft.
How did that (state of being) make you feel?
The previous state of my body left me feeling embarrassed and ashamed at what I had become…physically.
Was there anything you were unable to do that you wish you could have done?
Previously, I wasn’t unable to do anything…but struggled at everything.
During that time, how did your current state of being affect those around you?
There were no overt signs from others around me regarding my previous state of being, but I don’t think people took me seriously as a professional in the outdoor industry because of my physical state.
The Moment Everything Changed
How did you hear about Trevor Kashey Nutrition?
I heard about TKN from reading the book The Comfort Crisis by Michael Easter.
What were your doubts and fears before starting the program?
My fears and doubts about starting the program were: 1. Can I afford it? 2. Will it work? 3. What if this is just another “lose weight” quick scheme where the weight comes right back on when I’m done?
What made you say YES anyway?
What made me say yes was watching a few “Coffee with Kashey’s”. I consider myself “a thinker” and watching him challenged me to think about nutrition in a rational and nuanced way.
Life After KickStart
Where is your body/mind now?
My body/mind now are in my control. I have the power to adhere to a plan that develops both to their full potential
How does that make you feel?
Where my mind/body are now makes me feel empowered.
What are you able to do now that you were not able to do before (mentally, emotionally, or physically)?
I am now able to assess my initial response to stimuli before I react and deliver a response that moves me toward my goals. Physically, I am able to train like I did 30 years ago.
The Ripple Effect
What positive impact did that have on others around you that you might not have expected?
I’ve been surprised by the impact of tracking data has had on my family and friends. Realizing that healthy nutrition is not about labeling foods good or bad, but understanding what moves us toward or away from our goals has had a tremendous effect on others around me.
Greg’s Words to You
What would you tell someone who is reading this right now and is unsure about taking the next step?
My encouragement to someone reading this and is unsure about taking the next step is to put yourself first and commit. While nutrition is enough…this is so much more than just about eating.
