Life Before KickStart
How was your body before Trevor Kashey Nutrition?
You could tell I like to work out but also love tacos and beer
How did that (state of being) make you feel?
I was never happy with the way I looked in pictures – there was always something like a muffin top or a fat arm
Was there anything you were unable to do that you wish you could have done?
I wasn’t completely confident wearing a bikini to the beach, I struggled to improve my running pace, I wanted to see more definition in my body
During that time, how did your current state of being affect those around you?
I feel that people around me could sense the lack of confidence in me, inability to accept a compliment, being hard on myself fo “falling off the wagon” all the time
The Moment Everything Changed
How did you hear about Trevor Kashey Nutrition?
Alex Hormozi
What were your doubts and fears before starting the program?
Again, I was afraid that I wouldn’t be able to complete the challenge and get results I wanted for myself
What made you say YES anyway?
I am competitive so knowing there are many other gym lords in the challenge made it very attractive. Also, we were going into the holidays so I really wanted to see if it was possible to not gain weight over holidays, I knew having accountability will help making better decisions
Life After KickStart
Where is your body/mind now?
I feel amazing dressing up for parties and celebrations – nothing feels better as putting on a dress that compliments every part of your body. Also nothing feels better than winning a competitive wave of Spartan Beast at one of the most challenging venues in the country. Also, nothing feels better when your kids ask for broccoli and green beans for dinner 😉
How does that make you feel?
I am so freaking happy! I can’t believe how EASY it has been to lose this weight, no crazy restrictive dieting, I did it over the holidays and like a zillion birthdays and parties, and I enjoyed those events and still lost weight. It feels like a miracle!
What are you able to do now that you were not able to do before (mentally, emotionally, or physically)?
I am able to run longer and faster, I am able to climb mountains with way less effort. It took me almost 18 hours to complete my 100 K (62 miles) and not even once I thought of quitting
I am able to make adult decisions about food – weigh in the consequences and make an informed decision based on the outcome I want to get
I am able to plan my food based on the results I want to get, without having to “diet”, also plan my celebrations/holiday parties so that they don’t reverse my progress
I also stopped drinking completely almost 6 months ago, and because of TKN coaching approach it was very easy – I analyzed how drinking made me feel and it was obvious that it did not serve me in any way. Being able to collect data and make the best decision based on that is one of the biggest lessons for me
I am also able to eat potatoes and brisket for breakfast because a) it’s delicious b) it fits into my numbers provided by my coach c) who cares it’s 7:15 am d) it’s delicious (wait, did I say that already?)
The Ripple Effect
What positive impact did that have on others around you that you might not have expected?
As a result of stepping my game up I have become a better, more confident leader which is a great benefit for my clients. I practice what I preach while being very transparent that we are all humans and it is OK to act like humans.
Focusing on ACHIEVING my goals not just talking about them made me a better mom as well – I am a true role model for my kids, kids always do what they see not what they are told, They see a confident business owner and a competitive athlete who is not afraid to set high standards and go after her goals
Vera’s Words to You
What would you tell someone who is reading this right now and is unsure about taking the next step?
You don’t know what you’re capable of until you get out of your comfort zone. Opening yourself to being coached by a stranger is a HUGE step but it is absolutely necessary if you want to see changes. Having a coach behind your back will help you get results you have never had (and not likely to get on your won unless you are David Goggings and have access to the cookie jar at all times). This will change your life in way you didn’t think was possible. Being a part of the 1% of people who just ALWAYS get shit done is an experience not many will experience. I am glad I am that 1%.
