Ashley Tobin KickStart Journey

Working 12.5 hour night shifts as a patrol officer left her feeling exhausted and worn down. When she broke her foot and had surgery during quarantine, she gained weight, lost muscle, and found herself turning to food for comfort. She felt out of touch with her body and overwhelmed by all the different nutrition advice online. With help from TKN, she found the structure and support she was looking for. She became more confident, built back her muscle, and learned how to eat in a way that worked for her. Now, she feels confident, full of energy, and proud of her reflection. This change has improved her health and brought back her positive outlook, making her happier both at home and at work.

Life Before KickStart

How was your body before Trevor Kashey Nutrition?
I would describe my body before TKN as tired. I broke my foot right at the start of quarantine last year and had to have surgery. I gained a significant amount of weight and lost much of the muscle mass I had accumulated. I was unable to exercise for months and I disliked the state my body was in.

How did that (state of being) make you feel?
That state of being made me feel disgusting honestly. I couldn’t work out, I was eating improperly as a coping mechanism from feeling so down about my body, and I hated looking in the mirror.

Was there anything you were unable to do that you wish you could have done?
What I wished I could do that I was unable to do before TKN was understand how and what to eat. I constantly struggled with searching the internet for what I should and should not be eating, but felt like most things were contradictory.

During that time, how did your current state of being affect those around you?
My state of being during that time affected my boyfriend tremendously. He and I were in quarantine together and my negative views about my body were difficult for him to hear. My unhappiness weighed heavy on him.

The Moment Everything Changed

How did you hear about Trevor Kashey Nutrition?
I heard about TKN from a co-worker. He is a private client with Coach Huggy. I voiced my frustrations about my eating and exercise, he suggested I reach out to TKN.

What were your doubts and fears before starting the program?
My fears and doubts before starting this program were that it would make no difference. I questioned whether the challenge would actually prove useful.

What made you say YES anyway?
What made me say yes despite my doubts and fears was that I needed structure. I needed something to hold myself accountable to my desire for positive change.

Life After KickStart

Where is your body/mind now?
My body and mind now are in a much happier, healthier place. I am confident in my body and my abilities once again. I like what I see in the mirror and I view taking care of myself in a much more positive way.

How does that make you feel?
Where my body and mind are now makes me feel self-assured. I have a much higher self-esteem and I enjoy taking care of myself.

What are you able to do now that you were not able to do before (mentally, emotionally, or physically)?
What I am able to do now that I was unable to do before is understand how to properly fuel my body.

The Ripple Effect

What positive impact did that have on others around you that you might not have expected?
The positive impact that I had on others around me that I didn’t expect was a better, more positive attitude. I am typically a very high-energy person but after losing weight and seeing muscles again I become a much happier person to be around.

What would you tell someone who is reading this right now and is unsure about taking the next step?
What I would tell someone that is hesitant to take the next step would be: take the step. It will be challenging but it will certainly be worth it.
