Michelle’s KickStart Journey

Before TKN, Michelle was trapped on a see-saw of emotional eating, hiding her work stress behind binges and self-consciousness. She could handle short term diets but lacked a long term solution. Through TKN, she didn't just get lean; she gained the data driven skills to set work to life boundaries and identify her triggers. Now, her family is happier because she’s less stressed, more present, and finally comfortable in her own skin.

Life Before KickStart

How was your body before Trevor Kashey Nutrition?
Before TKN, my body was not what I was proud of. I was ‘chubby’ in my mind. I did not look or feel lean and strong.

How did that (state of being) make you feel?
That state of being made me feel awful. It was all consuming. I felt embarrassed, not for what others thought, but for how I felt and how I looked and felt for myself.

Was there anything you were unable to do that you wish you could have done?
Before TKN I wished I was able to understand why I had such an unhealthy relationship with food. I was unable to ‘control’ food in my life. I felt helpless.

During that time, how did your current state of being affect those around you?
My current state of being prior to TKN affected those around me as they saw me on a see saw ride regarding this topic. At times, I would eat fine and ‘seem happy’ with my body etc. At others, I was miserable and ate everything that wasn’t nailed down. I am sure this was confusing for those around me.

The Moment Everything Changed

How did you hear about Trevor Kashey Nutrition?
I heard about TKN from a friend.

What were your doubts and fears before starting the program?
My fears and doubts before this program started was if this was going to help me long term. I can do anything short term, but long term is where I struggle.

What made you say YES anyway?
What made me say YES anyway was that I was exhausted from the ups and downs. I wanted to stop a yo yo approach to weight loss not only for my body, but for my mind as well. I said yes to finally learning the skills to address my food issues. I said yes because I deserve this.

Life After KickStart

Where is your body/mind now?
My mind/body now is in an incredible spot. My mind and body are happy! My body is getting lean/strong again and my mind is strong as well!

How does that make you feel?
Where my mind/body now is makes me feel strong and confident. I feel energized that I have learned so many new skills to address my unhealthy relationship with food. I feel very happy and proud of myself!

What are you able to do now that you were not able to do before (mentally, emotionally, or physically)?
What I am able to do now that I was unable to do before TKN is understand what is happening to my body better due to gathering the data. I am learning what my body likes and does not like. I recognized that my work life was out of control and I am now armed with the skills to better deal with work when it gets super stressful, along with being disciplined to consistently maintain the boundaries I have set for myself regarding work/life balance.

The Ripple Effect

What positive impact did that have on others around you that you might not have expected?
The positive impact that I have had on others around me that I did not expect was how happy my family is that I am not working as much anymore. They also noticed that I am not as stressed out. I thought I did a great job hiding this from them, but that was clearly not the case. I also did not expect them to notice how much happier I am about my body, and where I am now versus when I started this journey. They have expressed that they notice how much happier I seem in my ‘own’ skin.

Michelle’s Words to You

What would you tell someone who is reading this right now and is unsure about taking the next step?
What I would tell someone who is hesitant about taking the next step is this is not a ‘diet’. This is not a short term change so you can go back to doing the stupid things that got you here in the first place. This is a process of dissecting all the life factors that we experience on a day to day basis, and how we handle those life factors. Not exclusively related to food, but definitely with a heavy emphasis on how we turn to food to deal with life. This program helps you identify your own triggers (related to food), and how to deal with them in a healthy and productive manner so that you can achieve your goals and say yes to yourself. Long term!
